Continuing the theme of immigration, the Film Fest attendees chose Minari for the March film and Brooklyn for the April film. Both films are streaming on several platforms. Minari (2020) is about a Korean immigrant family who moves from California to rural Arkansas in the 1980s. Steven Yuen and Yung Yuh-Jung were both nominated for Oscars (Yuen won). The film received a total of six Oscar nominations, a Golden Globe, and a Sundance prize. Brooklyn (2015) is a film about Eilis (Saorise Ronan), who crosses the Atlantic from Ireland in the 1950s to Brooklyn. She meets a young Italian man named Tony (Emory Cohen), and complications ensue. The film is based on a 2008 novel by Colm Tôibin.
