Sally Clayton will lead a walk to Taughannock Falls on August 19.  The trail to the falls is easy, flat, and wide.  Consider using insect repellent.  We will meet in the parking lot at the beginning of the trail.

 

For people at least 62 years old, there is no parking fee from Monday to Friday except on holidays.  Be prepared to show your driver's license to the attendant or at the pay station as you enter the park. 

 

Directions below.  As usual, I will send a reminder.  If the walk needs to be cancelled or the destination changed, I will email by 8:30 AM on the day of the walk.

DIRECTIONS:

From the intersection of Buffalo Street and Taughannock Boulevard (Route 89), turn north on Taughannock.

 

Pass Island Fitness and the Children's Garden on the left and the Cass Park Skating Rink and Hangar Theatre on the right.

 

Drive about 9 miles (12 to 15 minutes) to the park.

 

Turn left into the parking area closest to the trail to the falls.  If that lot is filled, enter the park on the opposite side of the road and park there.  Be cautious crossing the road.
