A Walk through the Cornell Botanic Gardens
Jean McPheeters, an LLH member who is also a docent at the Botanical Gardens, invites you to stroll with her through the gardens near the Nevins Center. These include the knoll (if the rhododendrons are still in bloom. An elevator inside the Nevins Center can get you part of the way up the knoll.), the shade garden, the herb garden, flower garden, and winter garden, which is also lovely every season of the year. Jean will answer your questions, provide information on some future plans for the gardens, and, she hopes, entice you to visit the gardens, the arboretum, and the more than 3000 acres that the Cornell Botanic Gardens manage in the area.
Parking is available in the lot near the Nevins Center. There are several handicapped spaces there as well. Use the machine in the lot to enter your plate number and buy a two-hour pass. You will only be charged for one hour--about a dollar. You do not need to put the receipt on your car window. Parking should be plentiful since Cornell will not be in session and reunion won't start until the end of the week.
Please register to attend. If it is a miserable, rainy day, we will postpone and we want to be sure to have your email address.
