The Food Insecurity of Tompkins County Interest Group is changing its name to the Food Security Action Group.

This group is open to anyone who has a desire to help support our Tompkins County neighbors who do not have regular access to food. Not a LLH member? You are welcome to join our group.

Initially starting with individual group members providing food to the Tompkins Mutual Aid food cabinets (blue boxes), the group has since organized a food drive to support the high school’s food pantry, participated in Notes for Neighbors for Foodnet Meals on Wheels, supported a drive for baby food, formula and diapers, along with other activities. We have occasional guest speakers from local organizations talk to our group to further educate us as to food scarcity in our area and ways we can help. Future plans include a once-a-year food drive, continue Notes for Neighbors for Foodnet, promoting food scarcity awareness in our community, and suggesting ways our Love Living at Home community can help.

We are always exploring new ways to help. Please join us in our outreach efforts! Come, learn, share your ideas, and help our community thrive.
